What Commercial Repairs Actually Cost Here

Nobody publishes this, so we did. These ranges come from our own repair invoices across South Mississippi and the Northshore over the last two years. They are not quotes. They are what the middle half of jobs on each kind of equipment ended up costing, so you can budget before you call anyone.

The Facts

Repair Costs

How to Read This

  • Typical repair is the middle half of invoices: a quarter of jobs cost less, a quarter cost more.
  • Median is the exact middle job.
  • Complex is the 90th percentile: compressor-level work, control boards, major leaks.

What Is Not In Here

  • Planned-maintenance contracts and inspections.
  • Full unit replacements, which are quoted separately.
  • Storm and after-hours emergency rates, which are posted on the water-damage page and quoted on the call.

Why Ranges, Not Prices

  • Two walk-ins with the same symptom can be a $200 relay or a $2,000 compressor.
  • The diagnostic visit is what turns a range into a number.
  • You always get that number before the repair happens.

Repair Cost Ranges by Equipment

Ranges are the middle half of our own repair invoices for that equipment over the last two years, rounded to the nearest $25. Planned-maintenance contracts and full replacements are not included. Updated quarterly.

A diagnostic visit is a flat service charge during standard hours. We tell you the repair number before we do the repair, and you decide.

The Repair-or-Replace Question

When a repair lands in the complex range on a unit past its expected life, we say so on the spot, with the replacement number next to it. We would rather lose a repair than sell you one that comes back in ninety days.

A useful rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than half of a new unit and the unit is more than ten years old, replacement usually wins. We will show you the math either way.

What Makes a Repair Cost More

Three things move a job from typical to complex: the part (a compressor or control board versus a relay or capacitor), the access (a rooftop unit that needs a bucket truck versus a reach-in on the floor), and the history (equipment that has run for years without maintenance rarely has just one thing wrong).

The cheapest repair is the one that never happens. Every equipment page on this site has a maintenance section for that reason.

Common Questions

Repair Costs FAQ

Are these prices a quote?

No. They are ranges from our own invoices so you can budget. The diagnostic visit turns the range into a number for your unit, and you approve that number before any repair.

What does the diagnostic visit cost?

A flat service charge during standard hours. Ask when you call, and we will tell you before we roll.

Do you charge extra for emergencies or after hours?

After-hours and emergency work carries a higher service charge. We say the number on the call, not on the invoice.

Why is a walk-in repair often more than an ice machine repair?

Walk-ins hold more product, so they get pushed harder and longer before someone calls, and the repairs skew toward refrigerant leaks and compressors. Ice machines fail more often on sensors, pumps, and scale, which are cheaper parts.

Will you tell me if I should replace instead of repair?

Yes, on the spot, with the replacement number next to the repair number. We stand behind repairs, so we do not sell ones we would not stand behind.
